San Diego, CA (For Release) – Noted actor, comedian and producer Mark Christopher Lawrence and Prayer Dudz will present another installment of Tuesday Night Comics at the North Coast Rep on Tuesday, September 25, beginning at 6:30 p.m. In what is arguably the funniest night of comedy in San Diego, Lawrence reaches deep into his well of top comic contacts to bring out the best in today’s stand up humor. The evening will be headlined by Mr. Punchline, Scott Wood, and will feature Al Gavi, with opening act Daniel Storrow and musical guest Ash Foster. The North Coast Repertory Theater is located at 987 Lomas Santa Fe, Suite D, Solana Beach, CA 92075.
Mark Christopher Lawrence is the recipient of the 2012 San Diego Critic’s Circle Craig Noel Award – Outstanding Actor Of The Year. He is an international headliner who has worked with the likes of Sinbad, Jerry Seinfeld, Rodney Dangerfield, and Jeff Foxworthy, as well as having headlined clubs and colleges all over the USA and Canada. Lawrence is best known for his series regular role as Big Mike on the NBC TV series CHUCK. He recently completed production on the ADULT SWIM TV show BLACK JESUS and is recurring on The PureFlix.com comedy hit, Malibu Dan The Family Man.
Lawrence can be seen on the Disney Channel’s original TV movie Life Is Ruff and guest appearances on Lab Rats, Good Luck Charlie, Heroes, Weeds, My Name Is Earl, Reba, Grounded for Life, Crossing Jordan, and Amazing America with Sarah Palin. He is in pre-production on several projects as a writer and/or producer, including a one-man show entitled People We Love To Hate. Headliner Scott Wood is perhaps best known for the rapid-fire comic delivery that has earned him the title of “Mr. Punchline,” with runs of more than eight jokes per minute. Scott has performed at such venues as The Ice House, The Comedy Store, and The Laugh Factory, and was named Stand Up Comedy Champion at the Improv Comedy Club. San Diego product Al Gavi is the Owner and Co-Producer of Comedy Heights as well as a regular performer. Opener Daniel Storrow performs regularly around the Southland and has been called “hilarious” and an “amazingly funny comic.” Singer, songwriter and musician Ash Foster, another local product, is a multi-faceted performer with “the voice of an angel.”
The North Coast Repertory Theater is a nonprofit organization based in Solana Beach. In the company’s 30 years, it has become one of the area’s leading arts with a reputation for excellence and diversity. Doors open for Tuesday Night Comics at 6:30 p.m., with Happy Hour featuring $3 beers and free appetizers. The show begins at 7:30 p.m and runs for approximately 90 minutes.
